Senior Legal Counsel / Head of Legal Department

Target tasks:
  • Coordination, management and completion of all legal and compliance related activities between departments and with Corporate.
Main responsibilities:
  • Be the single point of contact for legal and statutory compliance Management and streamlining of all legal and compliance related activities, ensuring compliance with Russian legislation and Company rules and regulations;
  • Actively participate and advise on critical strategic matters, such as the risks and opportunities posed by potential transactions;
  • Effectively negotiate, review and draft a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply and sales agreements and joint ventures;
  • Successfully drive a culture of compliance, including leadership in training and investigations;
  • Effectively coordinate dispute resolution in the region, as required;
  • Lead key initiatives to make the Law & Contracts function more efficient and cost effective;
  • Proactive and effective Liaison with the regulatory and statutory bodies;
  • Proactive Risk management, risk minimization and risk mitigation;
  • Preparation and legal expertise/validation of different agreements and legal documents;
  • Ensuring that all legal and compliance documentation is in order, updated and easily accessible when required;
  • Legal advice and consults to employees on work-related legal and compliance matters;
  • Representation of the Company’s interests in courts and in statutory bodies when needed;
  • Liaison with and management of external Legal services providers;
  • Proactive work in ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of current legislation/changes and coordinating work to ensure compliance with new provisions.
Key requirements:
  • Degree in Law (Master’s);
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a Senior Legal role in an international environment (pharmaceutical or FMCG is preferable);
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a manager (proven ability to manage stakeholders at different levels);
  • Proven hands-on experience in corporate, tax, civil, and labor ( international law is a plus);
  • Proven experience in courts (civil and arbitration);
  • Knowledge of legal providers;
  • Experience in negotiations at top level;
  • Experience in business ethics and business conduct compliance;
  • Patent protection knowledge;
  • Efficient communication skills, proactivity, the ability to meet deadlines and independent decisions making;
  • Fluent English.
